A team of Taskforce Kiwi volunteers attended the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year awards and leave with recognition for Cyclone Gabrielle relief.

Two months after a bushfire burned through sections of the North Canterbury town of Loburn, the community is set to receive support from TFK.

Volunteers have experienced their busiest Summer season to date, with multiple simultaneous operational deployments undertaken in Australia, Morocco, Vanuatu, and now at home in Aotearoa New Zealand.

As volunteers we give our time for free, but effective disaster relief operations come at a cost. The demand for our services has never been greater, but with multiple deployments currently taking place our resources are stretched thin. This is where we need your help.

Taskforce Kiwi has now deployed an additional two teams to assist with ongoing relief efforts in Morocco and Vanuatu.

A team of seven Taskforce Kiwi volunteers have returned from a two week deployment to Nova Scotia, Canada, where they provided direct support to Team Rubicon Canada following Nova Scotia's devastating wildfires in May.

Airlink supported the Cyclone Gabrielle response in New Zealand, providing and coordinating flights for volunteers from Disaster Relief Australia, Team Rubicon Canada, and RE:ACT Disaster Response.
